Firework Safety

Given the glorious 4th of July is tomorrow, we thought that it would be beneficial to share the dangers of fireworks, especially since more fires are reported on July 4th than any other day of the year as per the National Safety Council’s research. Fireworks cause an average of 18,500 reported fires each year (The National Fire Protection Association). Fireworks not only lead to fires but also to injuries. According to the National Fire Protection Association, “In 2017, U.S. hospital emergency rooms treated an estimated 12,900 people for fireworks related injuries; 54% of those injuries were to the extremities and 36% were to the head.” We understand how beautiful and fun fireworks can be, but we urge you to enjoy fireworks at a public display conducted by professionals instead of igniting them yourself. If you still choose to host your own firework show, we recommend following the below safety tips.
