Claim Management

The professional staff at Restore has over 35 years of experience working with Insurance Companies and their Adjusters, Mortgage Lenders, and City Officials to manage property loss claims.

Do you know what to do when a loss occurs?

When a loss, such as a property fire, occurs you must take the following steps as directed by your insurance policy:

1.

Protect your property from further damage

Emergency Response: Our emergency technicians are available 24 hours a day to provide emergency board-up services to keep the property secure and protected from the elements.

2.

Report your loss to your insurance company and mortgage holder(s) immediately

Loss Reporting: Your insurance company should be notified of your loss as soon as possible. If your agent cannot be reached, we will report your loss in writing.

3.

Have a written estimate of damages prepared for your loss

Detailed Damage Estimate: We will prepare a detailed estimate of all damages caused by the loss as required by your insurance company. We are industry experts and can effectively identify damages caused by the disaster, even when they are not obvious at first glance.

4.

Discuss your loss with insurance company representatives

Negotiate Settlements: We work directly with your insurance adjuster to negotiate a fair and equitable settlement. All offers are subject to your approval.

5.

File a proof of loss statement with your insurance company

Proof of Loss Statement: Restore prepares all required insurance and mortgage company paperwork on your behalf.

6.

Arrange for repairs to your property

Restoration, Repair, and Reconstruction: We specialize in insurance restoration. We can start the process immediately upon your approval of the repair plans and specifications – even before your insurance settlement is complete.

A Proper Assessment of Damages

Our estimators, with over 100 years of combined estimating experience, will develop a detailed, room-by-room breakout of damages and the related cost of the repairs using the industry’s number one estimating software for insurance repairs, Xactimate, which is used by 22 of the top 25 property insurance companies in the U.S. The comprehensive estimate we prepare will then be submitted to the adjuster your insurance company assigns to your claim for review, comment and approval. Our estimator will work closely with your adjuster throughout the negotiation and settlement processes in order to ensure you receive coverage for all items to which you are entitled per your insurance policy.

In addition to the assessment of the structural damage, Restore personnel will perform a comprehensive inspection of the property to develop a detailed inventory of all personal or business property (contents) damaged as a result of the loss. We will assist the property owners and managers in identifying the product and model numbers of all items, and we will utilize our expertise to assist in determining which items may be salvaged and restored.
Restore personnel can also assist in the valuation of these items if requested.

Frequently Asked Questions

Many times, that is the impression that is given, but you are not required to get other estimates, nor are you required to accept the low bid for the work that needs to be completed. If there is an excessive amount of pressure placed on finding lower estimates, that may tell you that your insurance company is more concerned with saving their money than they are with correctly restoring your property.

This is one of the most common restoration FAQs we hear. The answer is no! It is your choice which restoration company you use. Even if it is implied by your insurance adjuster, you get final say which company you want to restore your property to pre-damage state.

Yes! We work with all adjusters and insurance providers. Our company will work closely with your insurance provider to ensure you get the settlement you need and repair work done as quickly as possible.

We use Xactimate(R) Estimating software for both fire and water damage claims. Because we use this insurance-industry software and our team has I.I.C.R.C. industry training, it’s easy for insurance companies to process the paperwork. We speak their language, in other words, which reduces confusion and any “back and forth.”
